Me, myself & I
"i am free to be who i really am... no pretenses, no broken promises, no fear... just a life packed with hopelessness and unattainable dreams, 'cause im just livin' like i shld... my life..." everyone has hopes and dreams but dun they know that hope is the denial of reality and that dreams will forever be just dreams? Monday, August 27, 2007 [270807] AHM down, Run for hope next
Dear damian, We've been with each other since birth and have always placed our great faith in you. We've endured countless hours of standing while at work and even more hours doing arduous footdrill in the 8 and a half years that you were in the Corps. When you decreed that you felt you needed to shape up and lose weight, we went along with the idea as well. What followed was a program of running/jogging 2-4 km every evening for a period of over 3-6 months and we were glad to see the results. Never once had we complained about the stress, workload and wear and tear you placed on us but why do you choose to abuse us so? Now, when more than ever you felt the need to run? You put us through 21.1 km and now you feel our sorrow and pain. And what's this talk i've heard about running the 42.195km Standard Chartered Marathon? Treasure us more please? Sincerely yours, Your Knees Shagged out day yesterday, woke up at 0300hrs and cabbed down to AHM starting point with redfox, milled around and warmed up before the flag off at 0530hrs. By the time, we managed to squeeze past the non-competitors who were also waiting on the bridge it was already 0545hrs. It's really refreshing to be running in the cool of the morning to see how quiet everything was, how tranquil it was... Completed the run in 2hours 34 minutes according to the official timing, aint too bad i guess.. haha... but seriously the fucked up thing was having to queue for over an hour and a half just to recollect our baggage... fucked up system... met up with daniel afterwards to head down to sentosa for beach volleyball again... had lots of fun as usual and got a slight sun burn as well... Evening was spent with the lads down at LSB, great gathering last night... over 30 lads? and we had a new grp of expats as well who were vocal and great fun to be with... cheers lads... shouted, cheered and sung til my voice broke and grew hoarse, cant even speak properly now... damn knees and ankles hurt now... actually it's every part of the body.. haha.. cant even go down the stairs properly now... cant imagine how my body's gonna feel like after Standard Chartered.. haha... |
