[240808] AHM down, Northface 100 next

Finished AHM earlier today... crap, i need to run more... ALOT more... considering the fact that i took 3 hours to finish the AHM this time round compared to last year's virgin attempt at the AHM (2hours:30 minutes) and i would have thought that after 2 full marathons, i would have no problem with a measly 21.1 km...

I was proved wrong however, the race started brightly... a nice constant pace and easy running UNTIL we met that GAL, the pony tailed gal that always seemed to be in front of us no matter how we try to close the gap... redfox and me decided to pace her. Biggest mistake we made, that gal is AGRESSIVE with a capital A and with her petite size, squeezing in amongst the big burly guys proved to be no hassle but not so for redfox and me. Tried pacing her and we were only able to keep at it for all of 3 km, after that, she disappeared into the mass of humanity. The rest of the race was the usual, with me cramping up at the 15km mark... sighz... on a positive note: this year's organisation of the race was better.. as compared to last year's 1.5 hours wait to collect our baggage, this time round it took less than 2 minutes. For ONCE, SAF did something right!

Note to self: If anyone would want to destroy our nation's military capabilities, all they need to do would be to detonate explosive devices before the AHM. Practically everybody's there... Naval Divers, Commandoes, Guards, Most of the Infantry etc etc. SCAREEE thought.
