"i am free to be who i really am... no pretenses, no broken promises, no fear... just a life packed with hopelessness and unattainable dreams, 'cause im just livin' like i shld... my life..." everyone has hopes and dreams but dun they know that hope is the denial of reality and that dreams will forever be just dreams?

[210609] 2 month summary

Some quick updates, it's been 6 months since i started flying and i've finally cleared probation. What does this mean, well it has a few implications, namely, im entitled to the yearly performance bonus given out by the company, i'm able to change flights with other crew members, i can make use of my yearly previlege tickets and lastly, i'm not covered by the P plate anymore so if i screw up anything, i'll have to face the consequences.

Since Hazel has been eagerly waiting for my travel posts, shall post the more interesting places i've been to for the past 2 months:

Paris: The city of Love, unlike many of my fellow crew who loved this station, i'm one of the more abnormal ones in not liking Paris, mainly due to the fact that i found it to be quite a hassle to travel around and find food but this is just my own opinion and most of the crew i've flew with begs to differ and often list Paris as one of their favourite stations. Visited the major attractions, The Effiel Tower, The Arc De Triomphe, The Lourve and even the flagship LV store.

Christchurch:
Christchurch is like most aussie or kiwi destinations - boring. Nothing really much to do unless you're prepared to rent a car and go out of the city to see the sights. Wanted to go for the LOTR tour or white water rafting but unfortunately there wasnt really any time to do all that. Supposedly there's this place just a couple of hours journey away where the sights are breathtaking during winter. Had an excellent steak though at the hotel restaurant @ 50% discount. Excellent deal. Kiwi stations are oftent the best places to be getting Eiswein as they're really quite afforable. I love sweet wines.

Taipei: What more need I say about Taipei? Excellent food and the accomadation at the Sheraton Taipei was excellent.

Zurich: 2nd trip to Zurich and managed to meet up with friends there yet again. Went to Mount Titilus and had an extraordinary time with the gals. Unfortunately, Zurich lists as one of the more boring european stations and the fact that decent food isnt really accessible around the hotel makes it one of those stations where you could iterally stay in your room the entire 2 days until you have to report for the flight back that is unless you're thinking of venturing to other cities like Luzern or Bern.

London: My first ever trip to london and i can safely say that London has replaced Amsterdam as my favourite station. Accomadation may be lacking when compared to Amsterdam's Marriot but when you consider the fact that the hotel is so accessible and the ease of travel around london makes it insignificant. Plenty of activities for anyone regardless of interests. Be it roaming around the city's many museums or visiting the many football grounds or just finding a pub to drink their excellent stout or catching any of the world class plays they have in their theatres, there's something for everyone to do in London. I managed to catch Phantom of the Opera and it was great value for money... and the Roast Duck rice is to die for. Yep, Best roast duck rice i had in my life.

Bombay coming up...
