Me, myself & I
"i am free to be who i really am... no pretenses, no broken promises, no fear... just a life packed with hopelessness and unattainable dreams, 'cause im just livin' like i shld... my life..." everyone has hopes and dreams but dun they know that hope is the denial of reality and that dreams will forever be just dreams? Saturday, May 06, 2006 [060506] Ultimate siansation
Yesterday just as i left for work, i checked my mailbox and to my delight found 2 letters addressed to me. One was from Starhub, the S$20 Tangs voucher i redeemed and the other letter was from MINDEF. "Ah.. finally, my enlistment letter." I proceeded to calmly open (ok, didnt really open it calmly rather, frantically is a better word for it...) the letter from MINDEF and i scanned the letter for dates. You are required to report at 0800 hrs in your PT attire on 18/05/06 WTF?!? 18th May? Just a mere 2 weeks away, as I tried to take in what has just happened, I scanned across the header, Enlistment Act, Chapter 93 - Further Reporting Act. Fuck, i made a wrong assumption... they're telling me to go for another medical checkup... not my enlistment... WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF *Groanz* arrrggggggghhhhhhh.... another 4 hours of meaningless time wasted on the bloody medical checkup???!?!? I proceeded to call CMPB up and clarify on this issue, after wasting at least 10 minutes on hold listening to 98.7 FM, i finally got thru and the kind nice lady at the end of the line proceeded to inform me in a more than casual manner that this was routine and i may have been called back for a second medical checkup because I might have missed some steps in the first checkup or some of the information was unclear... WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF oh fuck it... Met up with fox for lunch (well, he just sat there and drank his Crysanthenum tea, he ate at home) then proceeded to Novena square to reece for his Nippon addidas jacket. Turned out to be a fruitless trip and proceeded to Plaza Sing as I prepared to go to work while he decided to mill around Plaza Sing waiting for the monk to come... A couple of days, a cauasian gentleman dropped by at tcc and I approached him asking if i could help. I could see that he was scanning the cake fridge and was looking at the take away sandwiches and cakes so I proceeded to ask if he was looking for something to eat or drink... Me: Good afternoon Sir. May I help? Ang-moh: Actually, I was just looking around. Me: Perhaps you're looking for something to bite or coffee perhaps? Ang-moh: Ah, I was actually, how observant of you. Diaoz... huh? I was like o.O?? He took some time to look at the decor inside the outlet before deciding on a seat in the alfresco area. Ang-moh: I've never been to tcc before, it looks great but how come nobody's here and everybody's at starbucks which is absolute rubbish? Me (smiling): Probably because they're a global brand and we charge a 10% service fee. Turns out he was from Britain... haha.. guess the brits arent cut out for coffee, he settled for our Hawiian Breeze instead... Stick to the tea, old chap! |
