"i am free to be who i really am... no pretenses, no broken promises, no fear... just a life packed with hopelessness and unattainable dreams, 'cause im just livin' like i shld... my life..." everyone has hopes and dreams but dun they know that hope is the denial of reality and that dreams will forever be just dreams?

[231107] Another lonesome off day

I think sometimes im better off without an off day, seeing that i always end up spending money and spending time alone. Another off day today, battalion off this time round. Went to suntec city to collect my race pack for the standard chartered marathon. Queued for over an hour before managing to get my goodie bag.

Headed over to Borders next to apply for a part-time position and as luck would have it, the HR manager was out of office for the day and would get back to me and schedule for an interview if im deemed suitable for any vacancies they have. Sigh... i really want a new job, a change of environment seeing that im not very happy working at marche anymore... hoped for the chance to go for the interview on the spot but luck was not on my side.

Strolled down to cineleisure and bought the ticket for Lust, Caution. Had time to spare so popped by Heeren's Billy Bombers for lunch. Decent enough meal, the chocolate milkshake is still as nice as before but blew a hole the size of lower seletar reservoir in my wallet.

Lust, Caution. Overall turned out to be only a so-so film with nothing worthy of mention. The plot is simple enough to understand and are without any suspense or twists. Wang Lee-Hom, the Taiwanese pop singer looked stiff throughout the movie with the lead character Tony Leung not faring much better with pretty much the same expression etched on his face in the movie. The leading lady, Tang Wei had a demure yet overwhelming sadness attribute to her throughout the film but did credibly well in some of the more emotional scenes. The much talked about sex scenes were indeed explicitly raw and emotionally charged and became the highlight of the film seeing that the acting and plot fell flat. One thing that bothered me though was seeing Tang Wei in the buff without her armpits shaved... not a film to shout about but for those curious, still deemed a decent film.
