"i am free to be who i really am... no pretenses, no broken promises, no fear... just a life packed with hopelessness and unattainable dreams, 'cause im just livin' like i shld... my life..." everyone has hopes and dreams but dun they know that hope is the denial of reality and that dreams will forever be just dreams?

[140506] We are the Champions

May 11th, 2100 hrs, ESPN. KickOff! Finals between Newcastle United Singapore captained by Sir Les Ferdinand and Manchester United India captained by Lee Sharpe. A grand final of epic scale as NUFCsg after seemingly looked to have emulated the premiership side in exiting the show early gained a second shot at the crown as they were awarded the 2nd round spot as one of the 2 best 'losers'

From there, they overcame stiff opposition in Arsenal Malaysia, AC Milan Malaysia and Arsenal India to reach the grand finals against a team traditionally viewed as a rival... Devils and Magpies dont mix well... A tense match followed in which NUFCsg trailed in the opening rounds only to prevail in the final round as Terence "lightning" Ong grabbed 9 consecutive questions to lead NUFCsg to its first ever trophy and in the process the title of ASIA'S MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE FOOTBALL FANS.

A big shout out to my team mate Terence in propelling us all the way through to win the show. I was just along for the ride, a hell of a ride in my books, i contributed everynow and then but you were the one who made a difference when it counted.. the title of ASIA'S MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE FAN indeed is a fitting tribute and testament to your ability and know how.

Secondly, a big shout out to all the lads who made the effort and took out time out of their busy schedules to come to the studio to cheer us on and support us from the first round to the finals.. you guys were great... painting the studio backdrop in black and white and spreading the geordie pride... wonderful stuff...

So what did I win? An all expenses paid trip to Newcastle, England to watch Newcastle Utd play Manchester United at St. James Park. SWWeeettt... I cant wait for that trip... my pilgrimage to the holy land.. to geordie land.. haha.. gonna be a hell of a trip... Speaking of the trip, my mum never fails to amuse me at times... She's been asking me alot about the exact details of the trip and the conversation that left me laughing in stiches went something like this in mandarin...

Mum: When you going to England?

Me: I dont know, ESPN and Moving Visuals still haven contacted us.

Mum: Are they cheating you out of the prize?

Me: Cannot be lah, ESPN is a global coporation.. has branches all over the world.

Mum: Global coporation wont cheat people one ah?

erm.. Ok.. point taken note of... mum wins hands down... ah.. the joy of winning something.. quite a special feeling.. hard to describe it actually... but the joy is overshadowed by the stepping down of a giant of a man, Alan Shearer as he bid farewell to Geordie nation after 10 outstanding years of service to the club he supported as a boy. A testimonial match which seemed to be fitting that the great man himself scored the penalty that won us the game 3-2.

A period of transition and change for the club i bleed black and white for but with UEFA cup football a posibility and the exciting summer to look forward to, i cant complain much. The end of a great era for the Magpies and I'm sure I say this for all Geordies that there's only one Alan Shearer...

Hhhhhhhheyyy Alan Shearer!!!

woo ah, i wanna know knoowww

How you score that goal!!!

Saw this in Terence's blog post and cant help myself.. corny and lame but remember to keep reading my life story cause We cant kick off without ya!

Turion out.
