[220707] Island life, Islander to be...

Things learnt about my new phone:

1) I cant seem to wake up to its alarm
2) The camera seems to lag
3) Text fonts are too big
4) Messaging is a pain

notice that point 1 is in bold, cause because of that fact, i missed the mizuno wave run that i had signed up for last month... grrr... woke up only at 0730, the flag off time for the run... so in the end, opted to go straight for sentosa which was what i intended to do after the run... reached sentosa then throughout the day, kept on seeing ppl with the muizuno wave run singlet... pissed.. haha... oh well... no one to blame but myself... note to self: set up multiple clocks in addition to hp for alarm for impt events.

had a ball of a time today... played 6 matches... lost all but one... still going through a steep learning curve but getting the hang of it... getting addicted to the sport of beach volleyball... the serve, the set, the spike... shiokness... very enjoyable indeed... settled on going down fortnightly to enjoy the sun, sand, sea and babes... the beach was swarmed by the ladies today... lotsa distractions... sentosa anyone? calling for ladies and gents to join me and my kakis for beach volleyball action!

[120707] Random ramblings

Read about JJ Lin's latest song, Killer's MTV being banned from playing on 3 Taiwanese tv stations due to its dark themes and glory scenes. So decided to have a look and judge for myself. After watching it, i wanted to laugh at those freakin morons who decided that it had to be banned.

The music video true to the critics fitted well with the song and the overall art direction was surprisingly good with JJ playing well in his role as a overzealous admirer turned stalker and ultimately, a killer as the name of the song suggests. It's delivered in his usual R n B mix kinnd genre but the scenes where supposedly it was too graphic was laughable at best.

Obviously the Taiwanese have yet to catch the SAW trilogy where you cant get through the entire film without at least grimacing, cringing or feeling nauseous once or twice. The big dismemberment scene consisted of only showing JJ being hit by a splatter or spray of blood as he 'slashed' with his puny surgical knife. The ending scene in which he frames up the dismembered head of his obsession unto his shrine wasnt that big of a deal either with the head though very similar to the actress's features looked a tad too 'waxy' and made me smile rather than cringe. I still think they're over reacting... geez, grow up people. Judge for yourselves then, haha...
