[090109] felt cheated and betrayed

Don't you guys go on thinking along the wrong lines just by reading the above heading. Nope, i havent been cheated or duped by anyone. My reasons for the above feelings is because of watching Red Cliff 2. Felt so let down by the ending and the overall screenplay, perhaps it was for the dramatization of the film but through that process, the story actually differed from the actual novel itself.

Gone was the Ku rou ji employed by Zhou Yu on Huang Gai and used to trick Cao Cao and according to the novel, Cao Cao narrowly escaped from the battle of the red cliffs by sheer luck as he galloped with his entourage fleeing from the scene of chaos and carnage as the battle raged on not like the movie where Zhou Yu actually let him live and leave. Think even the role of xiao qiao, one of the famed beauties of ancient times was overemphasized probably due to her role being potrayed by Lin Chilin. what a disappointment indeed.

IP man was nice though and there arent too many complaints i have about the overall film itself. The action sequences were excellent but then again with Donnie Yen doing the scenes and Sammo Hung choreographing it, who would and could complain? One of the better martial arts movies to come out for a while. I think huo yuan jia would find this movie a hard one to beat and that says alot coming from me, a big jet li fan.

Today felt like the days when i was working at TCC and waiting to go serve National service, i would work, work and work and when it came to off days, i would spend it watching 2 movies and having a nice lunch somewhere so that i can spend the day outside passing time and not rotting at home. With my current job, i think this process would be a regular one, once again, i find that my job's not being very condusive for my social circle with everyone and i mean everyone not being free when im free, days become meaningless, there are no fridays, saturdays or sundays on my calendars. It's become just a representation of the DATES. TGIF holds no more meaning for me unless it's TGIOD (Thank God It's Off Day) and Public holidays are just some other dates. That is my life... i enjoy my job but somehow, i think something's missing... i need to break out of the deafening silence...

[080109] Post Cape Town

I'm back people! Once again, i leave a very beautiful and scenic country with absolutely gorgeous weather to return to a country the equivalent of a gym sauna, the heat and humidity powered to the max. I hate the weather in Singapore, im beginning to realise... weather in Cape Town was around the low twenties, might be lower, excellent for wearing your hoodies as you walk around town.

Fooooooooddddd.... Ahhhh... the very reason for mankind's existance. I took pics this time round so be warned. Tried fresh oysters for the first time, very very very nice indeed, no wonder ppl go ga-ga over them.

A squeeze of lemon and a dash of tabasco and voila! The perfect starter to your seafood meal. Ate at Ocean's basket, a restaurant similiar in concept to Fish and Co. though my colleagues tell me it's the same. Their seafood platter was to die for... fresh succulent fish with sumptous prawns and delightul rice and mussles. yumz.

Visited a seal colony as well as a beach frequented by the funniest and probably cutest creatures on Earth - Penguins! hahaha, absolutely hilarious watching the little critters walk around and jump from rock to rock as they manuveoured around the rocky coastline. Visited Cape Point where the cape of good hope is situated and the cape of good hope lighthouse but sadly visibilty was severly hampered with misty and cloudy conditions.

Fortune favoured those with persistance however as the skies was clear over table mountain allowing us the opportunity to go up Table Mountain - reckoned to the oldest mountain in the world, even older than the Rockies and Himalayas. The view was just breathtaking and with the impending sunset, every picture we took was just postcard perfect.

i miss cape town already... Brisbane coming up...
